Welcome to our review blog !

Our blog focuses on minorities, those we hesitate to discuss, who are disruptive because they have sought to enact change within society. It's challenging to succinctly describe the focus of this blog, but it primarily explores themes related to women, feminism, ecofeminism, queer literature, and disability studies.

“I detest the masculine point of view. I am bored by his heroism, virtue, and honour. I think the best these men can do is not talk about themselves anymore.”- said Virginia Woolf

So, are you ready to enter our world?

What is ecofeminism? Ecofeminism is a branch of feminism that explores the relationship between gender and our environment. It is a form of political ideology with a focus on climate change, representing an intellectual critique. In essence, ecofeminists argue that the domination of men and the degradation of the environment are consequences of patriarchy and capitalism. Although this movement formally emerged in the 1970s, its roots trace back much earlier. Throughout history, and even today, women have often been underrepresented and poorly regarded in scientific fields, particularly in botany. Ecofeminism seeks to amplify the voices of women, a segment of the population that is often overlooked.

So, we would also like to discuss the role of women in French literature, as well as, on the other hand, the role of women in new romantic comedies.

Finally, we will also discuss the perception of women. They have been perceived as witches in society from the 14th century to the present day.

In this way, there is a link between queers and women.

But, first of all, what specifically constitutes queer literature in books?

In the modern landscape of literature, the inclusion of queer (LGBTQIA+) themes and characters carries profound political implications and is intrinsically linked to ongoing social movements and struggles for equality and justice. Currently, queer rights are under attack in a lot of places and particularly in the USA. It comes with queer books ban in the schools, books burning and obviously, violence against queer people. It becomes a means of challenging conservative ideologies and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities in the face of backlash and resistance.

Simultaneously, queer representation in books increased a lot these last years and never was as diverse. It’ also more accurate and diverse.

Unfortunately, queer books are always a small community and queer writers face to a lot of difficulties to publish their books and to earn money.

Also, it would be unfair to say that every letter of the LGBTQIA+ acronym have the same amount and quality in their representation. Trans, intersex, aromantic and asexual people suffer way more of the lake of representation as well as BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color) queers, disabled queers etc.

So, it’s important to us to use this blog to highlight the incredible diversity and creativity of queer culture and queer creators, especially in literature.

But, why discuss women and witches, ecofeminism, and queer literature? Women and queer individuals frequently endure discrimination and rejection, often facing societal marginalization. They are frequently misunderstood and ignored. For centuries, queers and women have struggled and suffered violence in their efforts to integrate into society.Through art, particularly literature, we aim to give them a voice and a place so that they are no longer marginalized, to elevate the recognition of certain authors, and above all, we would like to share a pleasant and instructive moment with you!

While our blog primarily focuses on book reviews, we also covera variety of subjects in a relaxed atmosphere, incorporating elements of music and art.
